Housing Need
- Applicants must have a need for housing because their current housing situation is substandard or inadequate with significant problems.
Willingness to partner
- Are you willing to contribute sweat equity hours towards ownership of a Habitat home?
Ability to pay
- Applicants must have verifiable household gross income of at least $15,000 per year and no more than $27,840 per year.

Family Selection Criteria
- Credit Score of at least 500 with no judgements and no bankruptcies or foreclosures in the last three years.
- Must have live in or work in Sumter,Webster, Terrell, Macon, or Schley County for 12 consecutive months.
- Have a need for safe, simple and decent housing.
- Be willing to partner with Habitat and contribute no less than 300 and up to 500 "sweat equity" hours.
- Be a legal, permanent resident of the United States or US Citizen.
- Meet the following income guidelines: Maximum Gross income of $27,840 per year or $2,320 per month and minimum gross income of $15,000 per year or $1,250 per month.
- Have an acceptable credit report/history.
- Be willing to undergo a criminal background check on all occupants 18 years or older.
- Applicants in the final phase will have home visits from the Family Selection Committee. Meet all other general guidelines as listed in the Family Selection Criteria.
